Experimenting!

I have had this idea for quite a while but never the time to get on with it, but this week with Open Studio's going on I thought I would give it a go.
Bringing together my love of textiles and painting I thought I would make my own patchwork quilt on canvas.
Quite a long way to go with it but its been fun so far, will keep updating till its finished. Hoping it will be good enough to take to Hampstead Affordable Art Fair in a week or so.

OPEN STUDIO

This year for the first time I will be taking part in Cornwall's Open Studio, 203 Artists from around the county will be opening their studios to the public for the week Saturday May 25th till Sunday June 2nd. I am going to be sharing my studio with my friend and fellow artist Sara Holden. We will be open every day except Monday 27th from 11 till 4. We have both had a bit of a clear out and you will be able to buy some of our old paintings at bargain prices alongside new work, quality prints and cards. And to tempt you to visit we will be serving homemade cakes and teas in our lovely woodland garden (or in the studio if its raining).
If you have picked up the Open Studio catalogue PLEASE NOTE that the directions printed for my listing are INCORRECT! Please follow the directions in Sara's listing which is the one before mine on the previous page or get in touch and I can email you a map. We will be putting up plenty of signs to help you find us.

I hope to see some of you in the studio soon.

Wooden Houses

After having such fun with the wooden blocks I had the idea to make some wooden houses and decorate them with characters from my paintings.

Painted on all sides and signed they are stand alone pieces or would look great as a collection. These two stand approx 35 and 25 cm high out of a nice chunky bit of wood. Commissions welcome.

Two new 10 inch canvases

New Winter Coat

Black Hare running in the Snowy Orchard

I have enjoyed doing these two small canvases. I used some beautiful antique French wallpaper as borders and matched the lovely orangy red in it on the Coat in the top painting.
Looking forward to using some of the other papers I bought very soon.
